Social Services ITO

Trainees

The Social Services Industry Training Organisation (ITO) has approximately 700 trainees from around New Zealand. Our trainees are staff or volunteers in the social services who are studying towards a national qualification while they work. Their employer provides work-based learning and may work with us to arrange any other training or work placements that are required for the qualification.

We provide workbooks, assessment guides and other resources which help a trainee link their learning to the unit standards. We also provide an assessor who is a skilled social services professional to assess the trainee’s skills and knowledge. The assessor determines if the trainee has met the requirements for the unit standards and the qualifications.
